Bacteria multiply and travel along the tooth root surfaces and produce a hard substance known as tartar. The gums becomes red and puffy in response to the presence of bacteria, eventually culminating in tooth loss, bone loss, or even heart disease if left untreated. Laser dentists offer alternatives to traditional treatment.   Traditional gum disease treatment Traditional chairside protocol consists of scraping with sharp instruments and ultrasonic scalers to remove tartar, biofilm, and toxic bacteria from tooth root surfaces. Traditional treatment can cause bleeding, swelling, and pain.   A better alternative According to the American Dental Association, many clinicians choose lasers over traditional treatment because they prefer non-surgical management of periodontal disease. Lasers use tiny beams of light to eradicate harmful bacteria. Laser technology demonstrates positive effects on decreasing bacteria, removing calculus, assisting in tissue reattachment, and biostimulation for better healing. The treatment is called Laser Bacterial reduction(LBR).   The benefits of laser treatment Lasers are considered leading-edge treatment for periodontal disease. Advantages of laser treatment include:   Enhanced success Reduced anxiety in patients Eliminated drill noise Eliminated noisy ultrasonic instruments Reduced bleeding Sealed periodontal pockets Reduced gum trauma Reduced or eliminated tooth loss Minimized swelling during treatment Faster healing time  Why Dental Laser Treatment should be used http://www.intensemedical.co.in/blog/why-dental-laser-treatment-should-be-used_12029.htm Tue, 21 Dec 2021 11:02:33 +0530 When it comes to the use of laser therapy in dentistry , it plays a significant role in a successful way. Even this dental laser technology is used in different applications. When it comes to oral care, dental lasers are utilized in different issues, for exampleteeth whitening, biopsy, removing muscle attachment etc.   Working process of Laser- In General, the use of laser therapy in dentistry is to enhance photobiologic effects. The photothermal change of energy empowers delicate tissue entry points and extractions and it accomplishes the objective with legitimately related precision. In simple words, dental laser treatment is intended to work precisely. During this process, four interactions happen once the energy achieves the interface which is absorption, transmission, scattering and reflection . And the lasers generally work like a beam of light. In the surgical process , it acts as a propelled instrument and when utilized for relieving a filling, the laser helps in reinforcing the bond among filling and tooth.   Benefits-   More exact and trend setting innovation. Painless experience and relaxing No anesthesia infusions or penetrate systems are required. Reduce symptoms and recuperating times related to conventional treatments. Bloodless and reduced post operativecomplications.Reduction of microscopic organism in gum tissue When you are using lasers in dentistry for soft tissue treatment, it should be used precisely and precautions has to be followed. The use of lasers in dentistry is increasing day by day because of benefits that comes along with Lasers.  Multipurpose Diode Laser- 10 watt http://www.intensemedical.co.in/blog/multipurpose-diode-laser-10-watt_12030.htm Tue, 21 Dec 2021 11:04:51 +0530 Our 10 watt multipurpose unit can be widely used in Dental treatments, Along with Dental treatment this model can be widely used in E.N.T, General surgery, Derma. Laser is portable, easy to operate user friendly software and come along with battery backup. Features- Super pulse technology 980nm wavelength 10 watt peak power in continuous mode Pre set parameters Excellent service backup Clinical training at customer end The 10 watt diode laser comes along with cordless footpedal and spool fiber of 300 micron which makes it very practical tool to be used on every patient.   Treatments- Surgery- most of the surgeries are performed in local anesthesia like frenectomy, tounge tie, mucocele, fibroma, lipoma, sinus tract, pocket sterilization, gum depigmentation and many more. Low Level Laser Therapy or Biostimulation- Low level laser therapy helps in reduction of inflammation, pain and swelling, it also stimulates the healing process. This therapy is widely used in treatment of Apthous ulcer, Burning mouth syndrome, Trismus , T.M.J PAIN , Dry socket ….. Teeth whitening- laser teeth whitening is an in office non invasive treatment that uses a zoom light along with high concentration of hydrogen peroxide to create a visibly whiter smile without any discomfort. Why IMDSL Diode LASER for Tonsillectomy? http://www.intensemedical.co.in/blog/why-imdsl-diode-laser-for-tonsillectomy_12031.htm Tue, 21 Dec 2021 11:07:40 +0530 The ideal tonsillectomy procedure should achieve a safe, atraumatic, painless, and bloodless removal of the tonsils. This procedure should also be simple to perform by the surgeon, with consistent results among surgeons. The cost of surgical instrumentation and the speed of the procedure must also be considered. Various tools and techniques have been proposed over the years, including lasers, microbipolarcautery, electrosurgical scissors ,ultrasonic or argon plasma scalpels, and intra-capsular microdebrider, with reports of better results than conventional cautery technique. Recently, the contact diode laser (CDL) has been introduced as a new tool in general surgery. Laser light originates in a solid-state laser diode at a wavelength of 980 nm (near infrared), and is delivered through the tip of a flexible optical fiber. The fiber is manipulated with an appropriate handpiece, and is used as a normal scalpel to dissect tissues . The CDL(contact diode laser) technique seemed to offer several advantages over the MPCmethod: High precision, Minimal tissue damage with a virtually bloodless surgical field Little charring or no charring Ease of use Complete sterilization of that area Biostimulation used for healing   How to perform Tonsillectomy- In tonsillectomies the mucosa of the anterior tonsillar pillar was incised with aoptical fiber, with a power setting of 9 W in the pulse mode. The dissection proceeded along the plane of the tonsillar capsule, and suction spot laser was applied to any remaining bleeding sites. Blood loss was estimated on the scale of the suction collection canister.   No course of antibiotics was prescribed after surgery . Neither local spray nor infiltration anesthesia nor steroid medication was used after completion of the procedure in any patient. Patients began a standard pain control protocol of oral acetaminophen (25 mg/kg) 3 times a day for 4 days, then as needed for 10 days after surgery. All patients were treated on an inpatient basis with an overnight observation. There were no restrictions on food or fluid intake.
